“Great tour. Very informative guide:)”
It was a long journey yet it was worth the visit.
Ingga, our guide, was very cheerful and informative. All in all it was such a wonderful and memorable experience.
I definitely recommend this day tour!
We used the company to initially collect us from the airport which was great value and a good experience.
Our driver mentioned to us that he was doing a hill of crosses tour while we were there, however we had already booked a trip via Expedia. To our surprise the hill of crosses tour was with discover Lithuania and the same driver who remembered us collected us. It was a long trip to the hill of crosses but broken up with a stop in the partisan forest on the way there which was very harrowing and lunch on the way back. We were glad we made the trip which was greatly enhanced by our guide. Another very enjoyable day which made us fall more in love with Lithuania.
Highly recommend taking this tour with Discover Lithuania. Our guide Inga is very experienced and explained the history very well. We first stopped at the park dedicated to the partisans of the Great Battle District, where you see crosses dedicated to the partisans and for famous people such as Pope John Paul II, US president Ronald Reagan. Then we proceeded to the Hill of Crosses where many crosses are brought by people on the hill. We were able to leave a small cross of our own.
Inga was great as she drove the whole 500 kms where it had snowed heavily throughout our journey. We also had to come back for the opera starting at 6.30. Inga kindly dropped us in the venue on time.
